A sensational txakoli with aging under flor!
This is a special "Marko" white wine, carrying the surname of "Loretxoa" which literally means flower in Basque language.
As the name indicates this txakoli wine was aged under the veil of flor in Fino Sherry casks.
Oxer made this wine with 3 locally sourced grapes grown in the surroundings of Biscayne coast Kortezubi village:
50% Hondarribi Zuri Zerratia (petit courbu), 35% Hondarribi Zuri (gros courbu) y 15% Izkiriota Txikia (petit manseng).
After the fermentation in stainless steel the wine is racked into old Fino Sherry barrels for a short aging under the veil of flor providing additional salty flavours and a very peculiar character.
Minimal intervention winemaking, without fining or clarification, has a great aging potential.
Only 2300 bottles were filled of this 2019 vintage.
